Overview

One file. Every paper. Every approval.

Plan, execute, review, and complete statutory audits in one place — with roles and sign-offs enforced by the software.

The audit file your firm has been improvising in Excel

Excel files, shared drives, and email approvals don't make an audit file. Audit Central puts every client, engagement, working paper, and review note in one workspace — with each user scoped to their engagement role.

Every status is derived, not typed. A phase reflects its least-progressed task; an engagement rolls up from the tasks below. The partner dashboard always shows reality.

  • Per-engagement Partner / Reviewer / Member roles
  • Prepared and Reviewed reachable only via formal sign-off
  • Immutable log — nothing hard-deleted, ever
  • Multi-tenant: many clients, one firm view

Standards alignment

Built around the Standards on Auditing

The SAs ask; Audit Central enforces.

SA 220 / SQC 1

Engagement quality control

Reviewer must outrank preparer. No self-review.

SA 230

Audit documentation

Working papers, evidence, and notes all live inside the engagement — assembled, not scattered.

SA 300 / 315 / 330

Risk-based planning

Templates seed audit areas and tasks. Refine for the client, then execute.

SA 580 · Peer review

Sign-off, ready to defend

Timestamped, attributed sign-offs. Immutable log. Ready for ICAI, QRB, or NFRA scrutiny.

Features

What you get on day one

Everything a CA firm needs to run engagements with control.

Roles & Permissions

Partner, Reviewer, and Member — set per engagement, enforced everywhere.

Engagements & Phases

Five fixed phases, split into audit areas and tasks. Your programme, on rails.

Working Papers & Evidence

Papers and attachments live inside the task they support. Where reviewers expect them.

Review Notes

Reviewers raise notes on tasks. Open notes block sign-off — review is a gate.

Four-Eyes Sign-off

Preparer ≠ Reviewer. Reviewer outranks preparer. No override.

Live Partner Dashboard

Real-time status and progress across the portfolio. Every number derived.

How it works

The mechanics that keep status honest

Four design choices that carry every engagement.

01

Templated engagements

Pick an engagement type — audit areas and tasks appear ready to go.

02

Sign-off drives progress

Prepared and Reviewed only via sign-off. Timestamped and attributed.

03

Derived status

Phase = least-progressed task. Engagement rolls up automatically. Status = reality.

04

Enforced rules & trail

Four-eyes, seniority, and note gates enforced. Every action logged, nothing deleted.

To be started → In progress → Prepared → In review → Reviewed → Completed

Six ordered statuses, shared by tasks and phases. Prepared and Reviewed are reachable only via sign-off.

Use Cases

Built around statutory audit

For CA firms — and any review-heavy attestation work.

Statutory Audit (Cos. Act, 2013)
Year-end audits end to end — private, public, listed. Standardised phases, papers, and sign-offs.
Multi-Client CA Firms
Many clients, one workspace. Role-based access per engagement — articles see only what they should.
Peer-Review-Ready Files
Immutable log, attributed sign-offs, no deletes — files ready for ICAI, QRB, or NFRA.
Partner Oversight
Live dashboard shows derived status across the portfolio. No chasing managers for updates.
Why it matters

Control, accuracy, accountability

Built into the work — not bolted on later.

Status you can trust

Derived status ends the "I think we're done" guesswork.

Enforced segregation

Four-eyes and seniority rules prevent self-review by design.

Defensible records

Immutable logs, no deletes. Peer-review-ready, always.

Real-time visibility

Live dashboard shows exactly where every engagement stands.

FAQ

Questions partners ask first

Short answers to the essentials.

Is the file genuinely peer-review-ready?

Every action — attachment, note, sign-off, status change — is logged with timestamp and user. Nothing hard-deleted. Sign-offs can't be back-dated. The reviewer-outranks-preparer rule is enforced centrally.

How does four-eyes actually work?

Each engagement has a Partner, Reviewers, and Members. Only a Member (not the Reviewer) can mark a task Prepared. Only a Reviewer who outranks the preparer can mark it Reviewed. No override.

Who sees which engagement?

Scoped per user. Members see their engagements. Reviewers see what they review. Partners see their portfolio.

Is our data isolated?

Yes — multi-tenant by design. Each firm's data lives in its own tenant. Ask us about managed cloud or your own infrastructure.

Ready when you are

An audit file that's structured, controlled, and always inspection-ready.

One rule-driven engagement file. Roles, sign-offs, and derived status enforced. Immutable trail, automatic. Faster engagements. Cleaner review. Files that hold up.
